At Tulsa Legacy Charter School, we understand that your scholars are your most treasured treasure—and their safety is our highest priority.
Backpack information and bullying policy are listed below. For more complete information, download the handbook or contact the Tulsa Legacy team.
We are deeply committed to creating a secure, nurturing environment where every scholar can thrive. Our staff receives ongoing safety and emergency response training multiple times each quarter, and both of our campuses are equipped with secure entryways to ensure controlled access at all times.
We are also proud to partner with the Tulsa Police Department at our Primary Academy and the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office at our Upper Academy, whose steadfast support helps us maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for every scholar, every day.
At Tulsa Legacy, all scholar backpacks must be clear or mesh.
For more information, please refer to the scholar dress code guidelines.
All guests and volunteers, including family and parent/guardians, must show a valid driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID in order to gain access to the building.
To protect scholars, we have several procedures in place. Bullying will not be tolerated in school, on the bus, or during school activities, such as sporting events.
Bullying is classified as harassment and may constitute a violation of civil rights when it is based on color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, transgender status, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, veteran status or disability.
Scholars who engage in bullying will face disciplinary action and, depending on the severity and pattern, may be reported to law enforcement. This includes cyberbullying.
TLCS has procedures for investigation and intervention of scholars engaged in bullying behavior, as well as procedures to prevent bullying and to support victims. Program methods include using re-education of acceptable behavior, discussions, counseling and appropriate consequences. TLCS is also committed to supporting scholars who have been the victims of bullying. Our District Counselor, and the Deans of Culture at each campus, are equipped to assist scholars.
